General Dentistry

Whether you are a new patient coming in for your first visit or a regular patient who has been part of our dental family, we perform routine and thorough examinations and cleanings for all of our patients.

No matter what your dental health is like, your dentist will provide education on how to maintain your oral care and prevent dental decay and extra treatments. You can set up an appointment online or by calling our office. We look forward to speaking with you about your dental needs.

Exams and Cleanings

We recommend that patients come in for a cleaning every six months. Our staff will perform routine x rays as needed during the year. Patients will receive a comprehensive dental assessment for gum disease, oral cancer, tooth decay, etc. If your dentist finds anything during their examination they will talk to you in detail about what they recommend for your next step.

Deep Cleaning

Although we recommend regular cleanings, for those who have more serious dental concerns, our dentists may suggest more frequent visits. Most people are unaware of how high risk oral diseases can be to your general health. Periodontal or gum disease can be serious for your well-being. That is why it is so important to have regular dental cleanings to assess and treat your mouth to prevent these diseases. However, if periodontal disease has progressed to the point of needing treatment, it is even more important to address it quickly. Patients with more serious cases of periodontal disease may require deep cleaning to clean at the gum line and beneath it as well.

Our dentists are experienced with treating patients of all ages! Our focus is to make sure your little one’s oral care is taken care of while having them feel comfortable at the dentist at the same time.

Fluoride Varnish

In order to prevent tooth decay and more frequent visits, we provide fluoride varnish for children. Fluoride varnish has also shown to treat minor damage to teeth. Although this procedure is often performed on our pediatric population, fluoride varnish is also very helpful for adult teeth.

Restorative Dentistry

Restoring your smile after decay or injury has occurred is just as important to our dental team as it is to you. Our staff will work quickly to address your needs whether it is fillings, dental implants with restorations, root canals, crowns, or tooth extractions. We know our patients are in pain and uncomfortable when these problems come up. That is why our dentists want to provide the best care to our dental family, as quickly as possible.

In order for our patients to receive quality care, sometimes that means we will need to refer you to a specialist to complete certain dental services. Our staff works closely with a team of trusted specialists if you are in need of dental implants or an extraction of a tooth. If you are experiencing dental issues that require these services, contact our office to set up an appointment so we can help you or refer you to the appropriate specialists. We will gladly answer any questions you have about the procedures you’re facing in order to help you feel comfortable with your dental decisions.

Tooth-Colored Fillings

Patients are already worried enough about receiving a filling for a cavity that they don’t want to worry about it being noticed too. Fortunately, we offer fillings that not only matches the color of your teeth, but it could also save you time and money. Our dentists use a composite resin that could allow for less drilling. Who wouldn’t want that if they have to get a filling?

Dental Implant Restorations

Dental implants can be a great choice for a more permanent tooth replacement option, but the process takes time and skill. Our practice will refer you to trusted specialists who will place your dental implants. Once the dental implants are done, your dentist will complete the process with treatments like crowns, bridges, or dentures.

Root Canals

Root canals can be scary for a patient. However, the key to facing this is understanding the benefits for receiving a root canal. A root canal can help relieve pain that patients are experiencing. If your dentist sees any infection, it is important to perform a root canal to preserve the tooth and stop the pain you are experiencing. Your dentist will gladly talk with you about the process and welcome any questions you may have to make you feel more at ease about your root canal.

Porcelain Crowns

Porcelain crowns are often used to provide protection and strength to existing teeth that are cracked, decaying, or injured. Using a crown can help prevent extracting the damaged tooth. Once the tooth is formed to fit the crown appropriately, we will place the porcelain crown on top. Using porcelain allows for a more permanent replacement that can match the color of your existing teeth while providing protection. We also use crowns when we are creating and installing bridges. They are placed on either side of the bridge to anchor it.

Our practice provides partial and full dentures here at Williams & Patterson. We do not provide generically formed dentures, but we take pride in making sure your dentures fit your mouth correctly. Patients often struggle with dentures being uncomfortable or slipping out of their mouth, but with our quality dental care you will be able to speak and eat comfortably and confidently. We offer:

  • Full dentures
  • Partial dentures

Cosmetic Dentistry

Teeth Whitening

Dentists often hear people say they are not happy with how their smile looks. Although there are options for over the counter teeth whitening products from the grocery store or pharmacy, you may not be pleased with the results or have some reactions to the agents used in those products. Here at Williams & Patterson Family Dentistry, we provide teeth whitening with strong agents that are also safe for your mouth. Your dentist will discuss treatment and maintenance so you can be the happiest with your smile.

Porcelain Veneers and Crowns

Porcelain veneers are a great option for those who are not pleased with their smile. Veneers are placed over your teeth to address chips, gaps, stains, or misshapen teeth. We also provide porcelain crowns that are not just used for dental restoration, but for cosmetic purposes as well. Porcelain crowns will offer protection and stability while also providing an aesthetically pleasing smile.

Emergencies show up when we least expect it. Dental emergencies are not ones we want to wait a long time to address, (and neither do our patients)! Our staff will schedule to get your emergency dental procedure as soon as possible. If you’re experiencing an emergency, do not hesitate to call us to schedule an appointment with your dentist.

Your dentist will review what services we feel are best to address your dental needs. Depending on the emergency, sometimes your dentist will refer you to a specialist to address your emergency. We will work with a specialist to get your appointment quickly.

Night Guards

Many people experience jaw pain and teeth wearing due to teeth grinding. Grinding or bruxism may occur due to:

  • Stress
  • Misalignment of teeth
  • Side effect to some medical disorders
  • Effects of general lifestyle

The best dental approach for this is prevention by using night guard. A night guard protects your teeth and jaw from grinding, clenching, and pain. Your dentist will create a custom-made night guard that is comfortable for you. If you are waking up with a headache or jaw pain, or notice a cracked tooth due to grinding, call our office so our dentists can fit you for a night guard.
